5 Benefits of a Spring Wedding
January 16, 2023Is a Rustic Wedding Theme for You?
February 13, 2023Planning a wedding raises a ton of questions. You’ll be choosing a date, choosing a caterer, choosing a DJ, and more! One of the first things people tend to look for is a venue. After all, you need a place to tie the knot in front of your family and friends. But where? And should you have your wedding indoors or outdoors? Here are 6 benefits of an outdoor wedding venue!
Note
As a note, even though outdoor weddings are great, many of these factors are dependent on your location and the season your wedding is being held during. If you’re having a winter wedding in Alberta, being outside might not be the right choice.
Space
In general, having an outdoor wedding venue will give you more space than most indoor venues. It’s easier to have more room; with an outside space you don’t have walls, building codes, extensive electrical wiring, etc. Taking your wedding outside can also mean no ceilings (although many opt to have a tent), allowing more space vertically. As long as there’s no tropical storms inbound, having your wedding outside can give everyone a little more leg room.
Natural Lighting
A well-set-up outdoor wedding venue will take full advantage of natural lighting. Not only can this give you a truly beautiful and fairy-tale lighting, but it can save you money on any sort of fancy light set-ups.
Romance
As was stated above, an outdoor wedding venue can give you the unrivaled beauty of the night sky. What could be more romantic than having that last slow dance with your spouse under the stars? Take the decorating pressure off of yourself; nothing you do will rival the beauty of nature.
Less Decorating
When you have an outdoor wedding venue, you won’t need as many decorations. After all, you don’t have walls or ceilings you’ll feel the need to decorate. This will take pressure off of you (or your wedding planner) and free up time to do other things. It will also save you money; fewer decorations means less of your budget will be spent on decorating!
When you’re choosing your venue, look for one with a natural backdrop that fits into your wedding theme. If you plan to have a woods theme, for example, look for a venue that has lots of woods around the area.
Less Formal
Having an outdoor wedding is less formal. Think about it; if you have your wedding in a pristine cathedral and your guests will feel the need to dress up to the nines. Having an outdoor wedding can encourage your guests to dress less formally. Being out in nature can be a great way to get your guests to relax if you want a less formal atmosphere. Nothing will put your guests at ease like a pleasant outdoor atmosphere!
Child-Friendly
Want a family-friendly wedding, where people’s kids can run around without fearing of smashing into your catering tables? An outdoor wedding venue is perfect for this. Given the space discussed above, and outdoor wedding venue is the perfect way to have kids present on your special day.
