December 9, 20225 Benefits of a Spring Wedding
January 16, 2023There are a lot of factors when planning your dream wedding. So many factors, in fact, that it can be a bit overwhelming. While you’re heart is(hopefully) still aflutter with the success of your engagement, it can feel like suddenly you have a thousand things to do. There are a ton of things to consider, even if you aren’t having an extreme wedding. Something you may not have thought about, however, is the specific day of the week for your celebration. Is there a ‘best day’ to have your wedding? Keep reading to find out!
What’s the Most Popular Day?
This will come as no surprise, but Saturday has long been the most popular day of the week for weddings. After all, most people are off work on the weekends. If need be, guests can travel on Friday evening and Sunday. This makes it significantly more convenient for your out-of-town guests.
However, planning a weekend wedding has its downsides, too. Since it’s the most popular time to plan a wedding, it can be harder to book venues, caterers, and other vendors. Ever wonder why people tend to plan weddings so far out in advance? If you’re planning a weekend wedding(especially Saturday), you’ll have no other option.
Similarly, Saturday may not be the best day for your wedding if you are on a tight budget. The popularity of weekend weddings mean that often, the price for vendors will be higher than if you schedule your event on a weekday.
What’s the Most Affordable Day?
Without question, the least expensive day for your wedding is going to be Monday. Over the last few years, Monday has become a more and more popular day to have your wedding celebration. With more and more people having unconventional work schedules and requirements, having off for a Monday ceremony has become more of a possibility.
You also will find, depending on where you are, a large price difference between Saturday and Monday. This can be a huge boon and reallocate funds away from a venue and spend more on other things, like your caterer and music.
Could a Holiday be the Best Day?
Taking a step away from the issue of specific days of the week, you might also consider a holiday wedding. Now, depending on the holiday and your area, a holiday wedding could be more expensive. However, if you’ve budgeted properly(and budgeting should always be your first step), and you want to add special meaning to your ceremony, a holiday might be the best day for your wedding. Perhaps you want the Christmas aesthetic, with trees and wreaths aplenty as your guests file in. Or maybe you want the feeling of new beginnings by celebrating your wedding on New Years.
Just remember, while many people have off for the holidays, many people often have plans, as well. So, if you’re dying for that Christmas wedding, make sure to give everyone plenty of notice. But whatever you decide, do what you want. It is, after all, about you and your spouse!
